On the second day of “Hamburg in two days” you will discover more water, more sweet treats and a Germany round trip in less than 2 hours.

Sunday – 9 am

Miniatur Wunderland & Speicherstadt

If you manage to get up early this Sunday morning (in case you didn’t try too many Mexikaner at Hans-Albers-Platz!) be one of the first at Miniatur Wunderland in Speicherstadt (right next to Hamburg Dungeon). At 10 am there already were so many people, we were glad that we got there early. Especially on the weekends it’s always crowded. But if you manage to get in you will find a very tiny version of Germany (and parts of Europe and the USA) and explore railway romance at its finest. Take a closer look and you’ll discover Pippi Longstocking and a lot of other funny details.

Don’t forget to walk around the landmarked Speicherstadt afterwards and gaze at the beautiful brick architecture of the old store-houses (awesome film/photo setting!).

11 am

Jungfernstieg & Café Paris

Take a short walk (or the U-Bahn) from Speicherstadt to Jungfernstieg and watch ducks and busy Hamburger strolling along the Binnenalster. From here you can easily walk to the Hamburger Rathaus and further to Café Paris and have your well-earned (second) breakfast! Make sure to try some exquisite home-made Macarons – I loved the Matcha version!

The second day ended at noon as we had to catch our flight. As I’m no Hamburger, of course I couldn’t cover all the features of this great city but I hope you found some inspiration in this two day (very beginner) tour. You can also check out this 14 km walk around the inner city: City walk Hamburg.

Feel free to add your favourite Hamburg spots in the comments! :)
